Real Life Ages Of The ‘Outer Banks’ Stars Compared To Their Characters

Since it first aired on Netflix in 2020, Outer Banks has quickly become one of our favorite shows. There’s so much to like about the cast and the show that you can’t help but fall in love with them. The cast is extremely close-knit, and that’s what makes for the best shows because the chemistry is real.

It’s not really uncommon for actors and actresses to take on roles that are much older or younger than their actually ages. In the case of Outer Banks, the show revolves around a bunch of teenagers, however, the actors and actresses that play these characters are far from teens.

8 Chase Stokes – John B

The star of the show is none other than Chase Stokes, who plays John B. Pretty much the entire cast plays characters that are supposed to be teenagers. John B is supposed to be 16 years old and in high school.

In reality, Chase was born on September 16, 1992, making him almost 28 years old in real life. Chase is also the oldest cast member compared to the rest. Despite the fact that he’s almost 12 years older than the character he plays, you tend to forget about it as you watch the show just because he plays the role so well.

7 Madelyn Cline – Sarah Cameron

Just like Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, who plays Sarah Cameron is not a teenager. Madelyn’s character is also just 16 years old and in high school. On the other hand, Madelyn is actually 23 years old in real life and is set to turn 24 on December 21st. Similar to Chase, Madelyn plays the role of Sarah so well that you really don’t think about the seven-year age difference between her and the character she plays. Madelyn’s character and Chase’s character date on the show, and the two actually date in real life as well.

6 Madison Bailey – Kiara

Madison Bailey plays Kiara, who is a member of the Pogues and the core group of friends that are always running around, causing trouble, and trying to help John B.

In the show, she also plays a 16-year-old high school student, but she’s far from a teenager herself like the rest of the cast. Madison was born January 29, 1999, and is actually 22 years old in real life. The age gap between Madison and her character of Kiara might not be as big as Chase and John B, but she’s still not a teen regardless.

5 Jonathan Daviss – Pope

Jonathan Daviss plays the role of Pope, another member of the pogues who uses his smarts to be the logical thinker of the group. The gang always turns to Pope when they need help, and he’s always able to come up with a thoughtful and logical plan to help them out. In the show, Pope is also 16 and in high school like the rest of the characters, however, Jonathan was born February 28, 2000, and is 21 years old. He’s a little closer to his character in age, but he’s still not a teenager

4 Rudy Pankow – JJ

JJ is the last member of the Pogues, and he’s the best friend of John B. Played by Rudy Pankow, JJ had a difficult childhood growing up, and is the member of the Pogues who is always getting in the most trouble as he doesn’t think before he acts. Like the other Pogues, JJ is 16 years old and in high school. On the other hand, Rudy was born August 12, 1998, and just turned 23 years old, seven years older than the character he plays.

3 Drew Starkey – Rafe Cameron

Drew Starkey plays Rafe Cameron, who is the older brother of Sarah Cameron. Rafe is one of the main antagonists of the show, not liking the fact that his sister is hanging out with the Pogues and that she’s dating John B when Rafe and his family are known as the wealthy Kooks. In the show, Rafe is a little older than Sarah as he’s supposed to be 19 years old. When it comes to real life, Drew is not a teenager as he was born November 4, 1993, so he’s currently 27 years old and turning 28 very soon.

2 Austin North – Topper

Austin North plays Topper, who starts off as the wealthy boyfriend of Sarah Cameron but is later the scorned ex later on in the series. On the show, he’s the same age as the Pogues and Sarah, as he is 16 years old and in high school. In real life, Austin is 9 years older than the character he plays, as he is 25 years old, and born July 30, 1996. Austin’s character really develops over the two seasons, as he goes from the character that we love to hate to a character that we kind of love.

1 Julia Antonelli – Wheezie Cameron

Julia Antonelli plays the role of Wheezie Cameron, who is the younger sister of Rafe Cameron and Sarah Cameron. Wheezie isn’t in the show as much as the other characters, but she does play an important role when it comes to helping Sarah and their crazy family. On the show, she is only 13 years old, being the youngest Cameron sibling. However, in real life Julia was born May 7, 2003, making her 18 years old and five years older than the character she plays.
