Charmed star Alyssa Milano joins fans in calling series reboot ‘too soon’

One of the actresses who starred in classic ’90s series Charmed has spoken out against the idea of rebooting the show.

The original series starred Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs and Alyssa Milano and ran from 1998 to 2006, telling the story of sisters with magical powers.

But now that Entertainment Weekly is reporting that CBS is set to ‘reimagine’ the series for new audiences to enjoy, Milano has revealed she isn’t happy.

Taking to Twitter to voice her disapproval, the 40-year-old wrote: ‘The thing about them doing a #charmed reboot is… it just… it feels like yesterday. It feels too close.

And her feelings echo the thoughts of many Charmed fans, one of whom wrote: ‘I don’t want this 2 happen. I want a reunion of #charmed not a reboot.’

Another fan, Kate, added: ‘A #Charmed reboot? Seriously? The show only ended 7 years ago! Leave it be!’

However, it wasn’t all bad news for CBS, with several fans of the show expressing their excitement about the series’ planned comeback.

One Twitter user, Katherine, posted: ‘OMG THEY ARE GOING TO REMAKE #CHARMED!!! Best news I’ve herd today!! [sic]’.
